Privacy Policy
Their Device is an independent newsletter run by Ennio Masi. This page explains, in plain English, what data we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your email address when you subscribe through any form on this site (homepage, audit result, footer).
- The source of your subscription (e.g. homepage vs. audit) and, if you subscribed via the Parental AI Safety Audit, the resulting profile and score. We use this only to understand which entry points work and to tailor what we send you.
- Anonymous analytics about how the site is used (page views, country, device type). We use Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across other websites.
What we don’t collect
- We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.
- We do not store the individual answers you give in the audit.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Where your data lives
Email subscribers are stored in Beehiiv, our newsletter platform. Beehiiv processes data on our behalf and is responsible for sending the newsletter and handling unsubscribe requests. Beehiiv’s own privacy policy governs how they handle your data.
The website itself is hosted by Vercel, which handles request logs and analytics.
Lawful basis (GDPR)
We process your email under the lawful basis of consent: you give it by entering your email and clicking subscribe, and Beehiiv requires a double opt-in before sending you anything. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing — every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theirdevice.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Retention
We keep your email for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, Beehiiv marks your record as inactive; we may keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe to honour your preference and prevent re-adding you accidentally.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if anything material changes — the “last updated” date at the top will reflect it.
